Warnings
In rare cases, a sudden and significant drop in blood pressure may occur, leading to angina (chest pain). Concurrent use with nitroglycerin (a medication for heart attacks) can cause excessive blood pressure reduction, which may be life-threatening. Therefore, do not use this medication if any of the following apply:
- History of arrhythmia, hypotension, or hypertension
- Currently taking nitrates or nitric oxide (NO) donors
- History of stroke, myocardial infarction, or heart failure
- Taking nitroglycerin-based drugs or other medications for heart disease
- History of liver disease, end-stage renal failure, unstable angina, or hereditary retinal degeneration
- Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa
